CURRICULUM VITAE

Since 2011, I am professor of sociology at the University of Cologne and, since 2015, Vice Dean for Academic Career at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. In 2023 I was elected as a member of the DFG Review Board in Empirical Social Research. 

Before my current position at the University of Cologne, I was assistant professor (W1) for Methods of Empirical Social Research at the University of Mannheim. I have been working at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg and the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development in Berlin. I studied Social Sciences, Maths and Economics in Giessen, Berlin and London.
